I always worried someone would notice me, and then when no one did, I felt lonely.

Jasper James

The works of China-based photographer Jasper James ranges from portrait, travel and interiors to concept driven projects, one of which is entitled City Silhouettes. The idea behind the project is somewhat appealing. According to James, these photos are part of his ongoing project that he has been shooting for the past few years in different Asian cities. Sometime in 2008, the number of people living in urban areas outnumbered those living in rural areas for the first time in history. He then thought it would be interesting to shoot portraits of these city dwellers combined with the image of a city-scape. The images are made in camera with just a basic adjustment in contrast and colours but no retouching.”

Waiting - The Devlins

“Waiting at the station, waiting for the right moves

Waiting in the basement, waiting for the right cues

Waiting in a daydream, waiting in the slipstream

Waiting

Waiting in the right bars, waiting in the right shoes

Waiting in a fast car, waiting in the airports

Waiting for my air-miles, waiting in slow motion

Coming through the turnstile

And if you ever change you mind

You know I’m not hard to find

And if you ever need someone

I’ll still be waiting

Just waiting, for a friend

Waiting”

Oliver Delgado | Tumblr

“These spectacular photographs by Oliver Delgado are no trick, the images are actual real-world scenes. Captured directly in camera, the stunning optical illusions do not involve any digital manipulation. When asked about the photographs, Delgado said, “All images are real. I only adjusted levels in Lightroom.” If you don’t believe it, you can even check out a behind-the-scenes shot, below, of his camera set up in the deep water and ready to document the landscape.”
